exchanging $$$ in Kuta

hi guys.
i usually exchange my money at melb airport just as i know its safe and they wont play tricks but i can see the rate is a bit more in Bali , can anyone tell me safe places to exchange in Bali and do they have alot of money of them as we might be exchanging a few grand?? thanks in advance
