Other than "local authorities at boarding gates not allowing duty free on the plane" i'd say this is a universal airline policy re international travel and more than 100ml liquids etc.
Why would you worry about this at Denpassar when you may simply purchase more (2.5 litres)at Australian airports on arrival.
