G'day folks,
I have just returned home from Perth airport suffering from the Bali blues - what better way to get over them by recapping my holiday
Flew out on the 8th @ 4am with AA.. Had attended the Future Music Festival & Soundwave Festival the days before so the plane trip was to catch up on Z's
Arrived into Bali without any hiccups and proceeded to head to the Hard Rock. Booked the holiday through AirAsiaGo.com and it said on our hotel voucher check in 2pm but we got to the hard rock around 9am and they let us in straight away so it never hurts to check with the hotel anyway..
Hard Rock in a nutshell = WOW!! Amazing hotel, Pool Awesome, Room Awesome - Bed Comfortable, Room nice and cool - Would stay here again
Got stung with the little bottles of water in the fridge though - Thought they were complimentary too as they were the same size / brand as the ones in the bathroom -- Got a rude shock during check out $50 Aus on little bottles of water...
Breakfast was VERY ORDINARY in my opinion... Don't get me wrong a lot of variety there but it was just average..
I am dribbling a lot now so I will finish the JBR off in point form with the places we went to drink / eat etc
Waterbom - Been a million times before but with a group of people its an awesome day! Climax is #^#%$ Great fun... A must do.
Oceans 27 - Surf and Turf amazing also the Lamb Shanks a must!
IFiori (opposite discovery mall) - Fantastic Italian
Flapjaks - For all you Iced Coffee lovers out there this place is a must / Waffles are also awesome
La Lucciola - Most of you will have breaky included in your hotel but do yourselves a favour and check this place out - AMAZING!!
Ku De Ta - Just went here for a drink - Very Exy but worth it for a one off
TJ's - Chilli Con Queso is amazing & Mrs loved the ChimmiChanga's - Mango Margaritas were also a favourite
Bagus Pub - Coldest Bintangs in Bali and Satay Chicken is delicious
Nightlife
Sky Garden - Absolutely Packed - They have drink specials every 15 minutes check it out for you young folk or young at heart
Bounty / Paddy's - Always a good time - Busy but still not as busy as it was before the bombings
Double D's Sports Bar - Watched the NAB Cup Grand Final here, Bill came to 3,500,000rp.. Grey Goose Vodka and Red Bull was a favourite
If you are feeling adventurous go for a flaming shot...
The Oasis Kuta -
The MRS stayed here and let me tell you besides the pool, this place is VERY VERY BAD... Rooms disgusting, Breakfast Disgusting, Stay Clear
Exchange Rate - 8800 per Aus Dollar most days got down to 8650.
If flying with AirAsia there is an office on Seminyak Road if you want to up your baggage allowance or choose your seat, its done in rupiah so it was a little bit cheaper.. There is also an office at Carrefour
Hope you enjoyed my JBR, if you have any other questions feel free to ask..
Cheers,
Chris
