Sorry to hear your sad news. The airlines will definitely not release information to the public on passenger lists, who is on board a particular flight, etc., for security reasons. I was in a similar situation once and this is what I was told by the airline. However, I think if the police make enquiries, they should be able to get the information? Hope this helps.
