take it to one of the phone places and they will put in an Indo sim and set it up. They will explain everything and they even wrote down exactly what to dial. I used the guy at Matahari, just at the entrance to the centre (there is a guy a the front closer to the street but i found the one at the back to the left just before you enter doors the best...very helpful!)
I topped up once but i was calling everyday for 3 weeks, still very cheap.
