If you book online you are asked for a seating preference (aisle or window - no middle)
You can also request to be seated together
Not guaranteed
In the past on checkin leaving Australia seats have already been allocated.
Sometimes allocation is not together.
You can ask to change if available or see a rep to discuss.
When I've reconfirmed in Bali for departure we have been able to choose & have the seat allocated at that time
