On our return from last trip I had packed two bottles of dearly loved arak in my suitcase that I try to make last a year, but usually finished in two weeks. Xray security guys at Dps airport entry said "Do you have any alcohol in your suitcase as this is "special" air asia flight - no alcohol allowed". My heart sank, and given my 9 yr old son had been crapping himself all week that he wouldn't get his toy Nerf guns through security and me telling him don't be ridiculous, they're toy guns... I quickly diverted security's attention and yelled "No, but he's got guns!!" My heart sank as my little boy started to ball his eyes out over the loss of his birthday present, buy heh, this was my arak and there were plenty more guns in Perth. Anyways, I tried to convince security by pushing long foam bullets into their arms that, not only did the bullets not hurt, but my son was not Bruce Willis and would not be able to get to cargo hull mid flight and get the nerf gun that they said could be concealing a real weapon. After 20 minutes with AA boss, guns were finally allowed on. And best of all, no one mentioned alcohol again. ANYWAYS, I am off again in few months and I want more arak, is this REALLY a rule, or a way for security to confiscate alcohol for black market or whatever??
