The process of hair straightening will strip the colour from your hair, so not advisable to dye your hair before having the straightening.
You will be given the dos and don'ts by the hair dresser, but basically you are not allowed to get it wet for 3 or 4 days afterwards, not used hair ties etc during that time either. Once you are allowed to wet you hair it is important to keep it conditioned.
I have natural blonde hair and it always ends up a couple of shades lighter after straightening.
