a "single dose" of azithromycin was recommended to me if I was to contract the travellers diarrhoea whilst in Bali. I had a script filled before going as not sure if you can get this drug in Bali. But the first and foremost treatment is hydration. If the affected person cant take any oral fluids in reasonable amounts (including electrolyte drinks/iceblocks) they need to have IV fluids asap. Stuffing around with jabs, pills and potions wont make a difference if they are dehydrated. (I'm an ED nurse so have some insight here)
