I have done it a few times & will be doing it again this year.
A family member does it regularly & has had no problems (Perth)
That said though..I have had Australia Post lose 2 lots of registered post before
My daughter's passport...never was found
Immigration documents - originals ...were recovered after 2 weeks and several phone calls/arguments later
Probably better than going through the rigmarole of extending the VOA in Bali
