Novotel Benoa, whats the beach like

Hi all, i'm thinking about staying at Novotel Benoa for part of our trip this July. Thinking about staying in a Beach Cabana. Is the beach safe/nice to swim in? I read some reviews that said it can cause itching and is full of jelly fish. I'm going with my 13 yr old daughter and have done this before staying in Seminyak and felt safe so would it be the same at Benoa? Ive only been to Geger beach and Dreamland (back in the good old days) is the beach at Benoa similar to those?
Also how far would it be to Geger beach and approx cost?
Anyone else stayed in a Beach Cabana? Are they on or close to beach? Is there security? I was thinking of booking direct using the accor website.
