I was told that using a credit card (or a visa debit card if
"cr" is selected rather than "savings") that your bank will chase and refund.
This happened to me when the ATM ate my card but paid no cash. Luckily I was outside a bank and insisted on a letter/form to show that I had reported the loss.
Rang ANZ Visa and by the time I got home they had refunded it. Unfortunately the Indonesian Bank had also done what they said they could not and also refunded it. Rang my bank, nothing they could do, have to wait for Indonesian bank to chased them. They did and the amount was taken back, fine. I felt a bit miffed though that the letter from my bank told me the Indonesian bank said the money had been taken by me and their machine balanced that day. Obviously not since they refunded it. However it was nice to see that the system worked.....
