Is there a specific reason you wish to stay one night in Denpasar? It's only about a 20-30min trip from Legian if you needed a one day visit.
If it's because you're arriving at "Denpasar airport" then you don't need a night in Denpasar, as the airport is actually located in south Kuta and is closer to Legian than it is to Denpasar city.
If you give an idea of how much per night you're looking to spend, then I'm sure plenty of people can give Legian suggestions. Everyone has a different idea of a 'budget' price for accomodation. I've seen people say that the $100 a night hotel they've booked is a great budget option, but that's double what I pay and there's places around much cheaper again ($10-15 a night if you're prepared to go really basic).
