i am with norbit i do feel safe in Bali then in aus walking the streets. they are lovely people and very friendly. it will take a couple of days to get use to it but after that you will feel well at home. we stay at legian area a bit more slower a pace then kuta and away from the night clubs. and i always wear my bag over my head that the strap is on the right side and the bag is on the left. if they grab it they take me as well. lol and never carry your passports or tickets with you. leave them in the safe at the motel and never carry to much money around. and photo copy your credit cards etc and keep it with your passport just incase they get stolen and you can ring the bank to cancel. apart from that you will enjoy Bali it's our second home we just love it
