I have been to Bali many times (usually alone). I go out of a night and have never been concerned while walking home alone late at night. If you are talking normal hours (before 10pm) there are loads of people around.
I pick hotels that are not down dark alleyways though because that can be a bit scary anywhere.
As mentioned take care with your purse etc same as you would anywhere.
