Mozzie devices

We carried a couple with us last May. Run on AA battery and purchased from Jaycar $10each. They radiate a high pitched (low) noise that seems to keep the mozzies away I don't know about the gender as I havent tried sexing mozzies . But as an added precaution we always used a prepellent containing DEET.
