Bali Discovery Tours

I have contacted BDT about their Bali Hai cruise and they want my passport details and the front and back of my credit card (copies) I'm not keen on sending this but they also said I could pay by Paypal. Have never used Paypal before, do they still need passport etc if I pay this way? Thanks
