I had the same experience recently with my husband and we had to go to the indonesian embacy here in perth to get permission and that said as long as there is no restriction on his orders then he his alowed to go, but it is left with your parole officer to give you permission to leave the state. my husband parole officer left it to the last minute and he gave us a letter confirming that he was alowed to leave. i still went ahead and booked all the flights etc before time as you can always cancell if need be as getting flights and accomodation are always busy. good luck. email attached if need further help...
