Yes Garlic lane with a little one is too far to walk, just jump in a taxi so much easier. The boardwalk restaurant at the hotel is lovely or Batu Waru (Indonesian at the front of the hotel). There are alot of great drivers around but if you want to have a carseat for the 3 year old I would highly recommend the drivers from Bali Baby Hire - they have carseats fitted and have an esky in the back of the car with icepacks (comes in very handy). With the white water rafting depends if you like climbing stairs at the end of the trip as I think most of the companies have them but we went with Sobek and they were fantastic. Sorry cant help with the tailor - but apparently there is one very close by to BGH that alot of people on the forum speak about.
