I am surprised the Parole Officer was so little help. Try this:
1. It should be in his Parole Orders try and get a copy and read them. They may require him to seek permission from the relevant authorities for travel interstate or overseas.
2. You should make contact with the Department of Immigration in your State.
3. Re-entering Australia during the period of a parole order is a matter for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to decide.
4. He may also need to seek the permission of the relevant authority in your State if permission to travel is granted by the Commonwealth.
5. He may need to check with the relevant State authority if leaving the State.
6. Within the first quarter of the parole period, travel will only be approved in exceptional circumstances.
7. He may be subject to police checks, which can take a long time (approx 2-3 months).
BUT above all....
8. Do NOT book air tickets before you get the go ahead.
I know it seems a lot of hooo harrr, but if you fail to plan will you be happy to plan to fail ? or what is the alternative ?
At the very least try 1 & 2.
Hope this helps you get on your way. ps look forward to you JBR.
