I have been to Bali many times and work in a profession where I have seen many people lose their lives on the roads. The driving conditions in Bali are not that bad if you drive to the conditions. In the main area's the speeds are reasonably low. What is dangerous and I saw it again only a few weeks ago are mostly young males hiring bikes and doing things that in most cases they would not do on the roads in Australia. It seems like it is a free pass to ride like an idiot. You only have to walk around Kuta/Legian for a few minutes to see another young bloke chucking mono's, burnouts, and speeding. Each time I think idiots because nine times out of ten they are the one who will come unstuck.
