Candi D IS very quiet. Don't know which deal you got but probably Bali Shangrila. It's a nice place. If you just want to chill then a week is fine. Otherwise it might be too long. (There is a reason why it is advertised so much on ebay). We got a free week there from a time-share promotion a few years ago. Hired a motorcycle & went out & about. It's a really good base for seeing that part of Bali. A traditional village 6ks away - well worth a visit. Nice walks around the back lanes of CD.
You can organise a boat to go fishing &/or diving. Or just get a local guy from the beach. You could always do your diving cert at Bali Shangrila (certified teacher there).
There are some lovely restaurants in CD. Would I go back? NO. But given that we had a motorcycle & could get out & about without hassling for a driver (no taxis) I enjoyed our week there. Good value for $50. But the time-share presentation was a pain - be strong!!
