This is our last week in Bali and we are off to another destination once again.
We thought we would try Sanur.

SANUR
I liked it. But then I like Ubud and the Kuta are too. They all have good aspects, I think it is just what you want from your holiday.
The beach in the area we stayed at wasn't good for swimming which was a little disappointing for our 3 yr old little man.

PENEEDA VIEW
Unfortunately I didn't like much about this hotel. Other forumites have mentioned a few aspects that I have to agree with.
The breakfast was pretty sad. I won't go into any details unless people are thinking of staying there and would like to know then just ask.
I know people might say, go and eat breakfast elsewhere, but we are a family of 5 that paid good money to stay here and have breaky included. So it was very disappointing for us. But we ate what we felt like, mainly the fruit and juice and then grabbed other stuff later on. The kids ended up getting the cereal everyday which they were happy with as well.
The view over the ocean while eating was nice though.

The pools were warm. A couple of days it was so warm that it was refreshing when we stepped OUT of the pool.

A while ago someone mentioned that they need to karcher the walkways. Well I agree. We were in a family room that didn't get any sun on the balcony area. It was slippery and grimy and the actual tiles didn't look like they had been cleaned in a long while. It was a shame because we wouldn't have minded sitting outside, but it was pretty dismal.
The actual walkway down the middle that had some sun wasn't too bad though.

Some of the reception staff weren't as friendly (I would even say 1 was rude) and helpful at other places I have stayed. They were hours late in giving us messages and didn't care about what our opinion was of our stay there.
I won't bore people with details but again if someone wants to know more, just ask.

The rooms were a little cramped and ours was dark. (again no real sun)
We didn't mind the rooms too much but we had stayed at the Febris earlier and we found the Febris rooms to be more spacious, lighter and had a cleaner newer feel to them.
They also only provided water (we had 2 bottles of water and 2 cokes in the fridge) the first day and you don't get any other water after that. This is the first place I have stayed in that DON'T give you bottles of water everyday.
The house keeping staff were nice and friendly too.

It was quiet and peaceful though. Not alot of noisy kids (with the exeption of my own!:)

The restaurant across the road, Coriander was great too.
Their nasi goreng and chicken Caesar were nice and they were very friendly.

SANUR SHOPPING
The fixed price shops at the beach market were good. Sarongs from 25,000Rp. Wallets from 40,000 to 70,000Rp.

Daughter C16 got her hair straightened and cut for 250,000Rp at the salon in Hardys.

Canvas on the top floor at Hardys were 30,000Rp for a size of about 50/60cm x 30/40cm and then 60,000Rp for larger again. They turned out great.
There is little kids play area up there too if your little toddlers are bored.
There are perfume places on the third floor. C16 first got some for 100,000Rp then at the place next door she got them for 40,000Rp.

Hubby and I decided to give ear candling a go I got mine done in Sanur for 50,000Rp. A Polish lady was getting a pedicure next to me and she was laughing the whole time. She even took a photo of it as she has never seen or heard of anything like it!!

We got the shawl looking fabrics that are really for furniture for about 45,000Rp. They make good gifts I think.

I found alot of the day spa treatments to be reasonably priced in Sanur.
We used the green little vans going up and down the main road. They are good and cheap.

FOOD
Coriander was good.
Gateway to India had nice Indian. It was quite spicy too if you like spicy food although you can get it milder I think. It wasn't cheap though. You have to buy your meal and then rice and extras separately.
Bennos on the beach had the yummiest hamburgers and a nice view too!

I will have 1 more JBR about flights home, KL and anything else I have forgotten to mention that might be worthwhile telling.
That is all for now. Thanks for reading again.

:)
