I find that the shopping in legian/seminyak is a bit more laid back and the shops tend to be more individual - although you can still get bintang singlets etc.. I would definitely go down jl double 66...the only cafe that springs to mind that we stopped at was the Cafe Seminyak - right out the front of Bintang supermarket...I was a bit off that day - but my kids said it was very nice food and drinks and it looked good too...there are quite a few heading away from legian- down jl dyana pura etc...have fun
