Hubby and I stayed there last year at the time share - Bali Palms resort. It was okay - we hired our own vehicle from Kuta and we've been to Bali many times.
We did a fair bit of snorkeling and sitting around the pool - drove up to Amed for a day and did more snorkeling.
If you like to lay by the pool, read a book and do nothing then Candi Dasa will suit you. If not, then go for a few days and then head back to Sanur, Kuta, Legian or Seminyak where all the fun is.
Just my opinion but Bali is so interesting it seems a shame to spend it doing nothing.
