some people love apples - however, if you're only offered apples every day... boring! But what if your partner offers you a basket of fruit to choose from...? Or throws in the occasional surprise vegetable? Or the odd fruit salad? :D
And, to use your example - no-one swears to their Nasi Putih to love and honour it, forsaking all other rices? Nasi Putih doesn't get hurt if you decide to change the menu. And, if you don't think you can commit to nightly Nasi Putih, either don't marry it or get yourself a good cookbook and learn how to use different spices!
And if the diner, for whatever reason, does decide to go the Nasi Goreng, can't he order less publicly? If he announces to the whole restaurant, then he invites the opinions of other diners! :P
