Tour East company is all over South East Asia and generally commissioned by Tour Operators in package deals for transfers to and from the airport. Their ground tour reps are there primarily to hard sell tours and reconfirm flights (not necessary now but there bumf says they do it)
I had a massive run in with a Tour East rep a few years ago in Phuket where the rep ended up screeching at me long after I'd left the tour desk (long story) I was furious with this woman and when I got back to the room I walked straight into the pool (direct pool access) to cool off. The Scottish lady from the next room was in the pool so I said to her "I've got two choices, one I report that woman or I hit her" the Scottish lady said "Ah! G'wan Hen... hit her!!" I laughed and still do when I think of the fiery Scot.
Nowadays, we get our own transport as we hate doing the circuit of hotel pickups and and drop offs and waiting for others.
