to us. I had 5 rooms booked in September at Grarden View Cottages only to be told the day before everyone arrived that there was no rooms. The replacement hotel was horrible and not worth the money so I found somewhere else.
I also had 3 rooms booked for Christmas which I have had booked since January this year. Was told in November that they ae 25 rooms over booked from the 19 december and that they would put everyone where they could but it could be 3 different hotels. Was not happy that we would all be seperated on Christmas eve so looked at over 40 hotels and finally found somehwere which was actually better value and nicer....
Yes they are obligated to find you somewhere else if you have booked by a travel agent. Yes they can get away with putting you in an inferior hotel at the same price with some dodgy excuse.... When I was looking in November every hotel I went to was either booked out or overbooked......
