Did the Talaga Waga with Bali International. Very few steps. My 8 year old did it. No problems. We did the Agung when she was 6 and that was pretty tame. At the end of the rafting there is a dam wall that you go over that is about 2 metres high. It was okay for me bit of a bump and my daughter loved it and wanted to do it again and again . You can choose to get out and go over the steps if you are not confident with it. I would class the rafting as pretty tame but it may depend on when you go. I would say have had a rougher ride in Port Phillip bay but I guess it is all perspective. It may be a bit rougher in wet season but when you see the number of operators and varying ages of tourists I dont think you would have a problem.
