There was a Kiwi bloke beaten to death outside the Bounty not all that long ago by the staff, he had been thrown out (which is an achievement on it's own) and threw an empty bottle at them, they retaliated. I have also seen a large group of young Ozzy males start a fight with the local lad's, obviously thinking it would be an easy match, only to be set on by half the locals in the street, the Polisi had to load them all in the back of a truck and whip them off, purely for their own safety in the end.
It's a hard call, but seeing the behaviour of some of our youth both in Bali and back home it's bound to happen whether it be at the Bounty or elsewhere and I quite often look at the local security/crowd controllers and at the masses of drunken Western revellers and think "Good luck with that. "
