but where are you getting your info on tourist spending? If this forum can be considered a snapshot of Aust tourists, it would seem that a high proportion head to Bali for shopping and plenty of it. The sob-sell retail strategy aimed almost exclusively at Australians, did not come into vogue until after the 2002 bombings. The pity buy tactic is obviously still very effective.
