Stall holders do themselves out of a lot of business by being so pushy. Surely they know by now that tourists are more likely to buy from a non-hassly seller - I'll always look in an interesting stall if I am not grabbed by the arm, had the seller block my path or any of all the other tactics they use.
Also, it's pretty silly that if one shop opens selling X, and does well, then within a blink of an eye, there are several other places selling exactly the same thing surrounding it & no one does well, so they all hassle.
I go to Bali to spend - save for yonks for it. But no way will I give my $ to rude hassling stallholders.
