Be careful. The generic brands are not always safe.
The last "big scare" earlier in the year involved the brands Dewi Sri and Barong, both popular brands available at supermarkets. Both were found to contain unacceptable levels of methanol and were recalled.
Neither brand was available for 2 or 3 months until such time as the government deemed the new batches "safe".
