If you have never had your eyes tested, and you live in Australia, you would be better off getting your eyes tested here first - it is bulk billed. They will also test for eye diseases (Bali vision tests usually don't). Then ask them for a copy of your prescription. Get some quotes for frames & lenses from a couple of shops & compare when you get to Bali.
The cost of single vision lenses (eg: reading) is 50-70% cheaper in Bali compared to OPSM, I found. If you find frames you like here you could take them to Bali to have the lenses fitted. Plastic lenses cost approx $30 & can be done the same day. Better quality lenses are about $40, sourced from Jakarta so the turnaround is usually 5 days.
I found Bali optometrist cheaper if you want famous brand designer glasses. I bought designer frames last month in Bali that were partly rimless plus got new lenses put in my old frames - $350 all up. My old designer frames from OPSM took 2 weeks & cost $350 + $110 for the lenses 2 years ago. So the prices are still competitive.
Of course you can go to spec savers and get ultra cheap frames for $100 here. It depends on what you want.
Cheers.
