Got back from La Walon about 4 weeks ago - my third time at this hotel. I have also stayed at Masa several times and am booked in again for a family holiday in December- we LOVE the family room at Masa with the balcony overlooking Poppies.
Masa has more rooms and it has two pools. The pool at La Walon is about the same size as the front pool at Masa.
I prefer La Walon because their rooms are so much bigger (comparing double rooms in older section La Walon with double rooms in back section of Masa) However, in the old section of La Walon you do get what you pay for, so the bathroom is a little rundown and the ceiling is moldy, furniture is a bit "tired" - but the fridge is a 3/4 size and icy cold and the A/c works great.
Breakfast is better at La Walon than at Masa, and we would often eat at their restaurant even when staying at Masa - the food is very yummy.
Free internet at La Walon and there is an ATM right near the reception area, however, mini market next door to Masa for stocking up on cold drinks and salon for massage and pedicure (great price and lovely ladies)across the road.
At La Walon you have to walk up the steps to reception to drop your key off - which is not a big deal if you are only staying overnight.
Staff are friendly and helpful at both places.
I probably haven't helped because they are both great places to stay for the price you pay.
