Several hundred kilometres away on the central island of Java, another 25 people were killed when the country's most active volcano, Mount Merapi, erupted on Tuesday.
As far as to my knowledge the volcano Agung on the Island of Bali last errupted in Feburary 1963 killing thousands of people and distroying many rice fields and irrigation systems Batur is another active volcano NW of Agung and occasionally emmits lava flows which have known in the past to reach the shores of Lake Batur in times well before tourism.
As Baldie explained read and research the things that interest you when and before you travel,I am definitely not an expert and never have pretended to be but most of this info is available through internet, Bali is a great place to visit and live as an expat but always remember your only here under invitation and should show your respect to the locals, religions, and beleives of what ever country you vist. Thanks for letting me have a say.
