This is in spite of the much rehearsed ooooooh....Bankroot!!! that they will use on you at will.
It's all part of the game, and the "how much do you want to pay?" business is their way of sussing you out before the real action starts.
A good response may be - "Actually, I don't WANT to pay ANYTHING!!"
Said with a smile on the face, this gives you the chance to turn the tables and find out a bit about the stall holder.
You should always have an idea of what anything is worth by asking other shoppers and shopping around yourself.
Don't worry about getting stung for an extra few bucks now and again....it happens to everyone at some stage, and remember at all times to retain your sense of humour and have fun.
If any particular stall holder doesn't want to have a bit of fun, and enter into the bargaining with that spirit, there is always one down the road that will.
