Bali would always tell you to start at a quarter or a third of the asking price and work up from there. This always worked for me in the past however in May this year I noticed the Balinese may have worked out this as their starting prices were VERY high. I picked up 4 wallets and the shop owners price was 1.2 million !! I started at 150,000 IRP and got them for 240,000 IRP which is what I wanted to pay. Just take note of what everyone on the forum says is the going price for sunnies, singlets, wallets etc. and bargain below what you want to pay and work up from there and sometimes I pay a bit extra but as long as I think I have got a bargain I am happy and the shop owners get a little extra.

Have a great holiday

Cheers
