When I was there a few weeks ago... some people were asking ridiculous prices on things... I always ask some tourists who have been there for the past week or so what the going rate is for common items..
I found singlets were 20,000 to 25,000, dresses 30,000 (for the shirred top and long skirt type) sunnies were 25,000 to 30,000, wallets were around 25,000, the bali bags (duffle) was 35,000 for a size 4.
Some shop people would ask for 100,000 for a singlet.. I just walked away, cos the starting price was just too high..
Utimately, you just have to be happy with what you are paying, cos you are always bound to find someone who got it cheaper. I figure if you are happy and the shop is happy.. then its a good deal.
