Have been to this forest four times and not once have I had any problems with the monkeys. As usual i take a bag of peanuts in their shell for the monkeys. I didn;t see the sign out the front saying that the nuts were no good for the monkeys. Anyway i dished out about half the bag and not one of them was aggresive. Then I got into trouble by the ranger who was there, he stated that the peanuts made them aggresive and after a large monkey grabbed the bag out of my shopping bag he threw them into the bin. Well about five minutes later this same ranger starts making strange noises and all the monkeys start marking strange noises and the next minute about 100 monkeys come racing through the forest all making the same noise and started fighting each other, and the ranger reckoned peanuts made them aggresive. After about five minutes they settled down. Everyone that was there said they wouldn't have missed it for quids. I think it was is way of letting a new lot of monkeys be fed with the bananas. They now have a little waterhole in the middle and watching the monkeys swimming in this was fun to watch.

Went up to Uluwatu also and this time we saw heaps of monkeys and they were selling bananas and peanuts there for them. Didn't find them to be aggresive also.
