The main visit for this trip was that hubby was playing rugby for the WA firefighters in the annual the Bali 10's rugby Fest at the Canggu club. It was a great couple of days although the firefighters didn't do too well.....Contratuluations to Nedlands who won !!

Wine: We always take extra wine with us and this trip we took quite a bit - 9 bottles in total - 7 wines and 2 champagnes. With the new xray facilities I knew that they would see every bottle.....So, I convinced hubby to declare all our excess on the customs form. We went through items to declare. The customs man asked us how much excess we had (we roughly calculated it to be aprox 4.9 lires). We told him the amount and told him it was wine. He said go straight through - no duty. I know it is luck of the draw and a couple of times in the past we have paid $8 - $10 per bottle "duty". Anyway I was very very happy :)

Restaurants:
We found a couple of good cheap restaurants this trip - both in Seminyak/Petitenget area.

Warung Eropa on JL Petitenget & Warung Sobat on Batu Belig. We ate at Warung Eropa twice and Warung Sobat 3 times. The food and service were excellent at both places and very cheap. Also for the wine drinkers out there the wine at Warung Sobat is very resaonable and good. It is always busy, so everyting is very fresh (including the wine). A Two island Chardonay was about 180,000rp and a Santa Ema (from Chile) was about 240,000rp per bottle.

One of our favourite restaurants "Fresh" in Laksmana has closed down, which is a shame.

Harry Juku - JL Laksmana/petitenget - they have a new happy "hour" 4.30 - 7pm daily - 50% off cocktails + spirits, 15k bintang + 20k pizza. We have eaten here a few times before and have always had lovely food and the 2 times we ate here this trip were no different.

Naughty Nuri's - Batu Belig - 9 of us ate here and i don't think any of us will return....we may have had a bad night...I've never actually eaten at the one in Ubud so it's hard to compare. We felt rushed the whole time we were there. I think we were all in and out in about 30mins. The ribs were reasonably priced at 79k++ but the famous martini's were 100k++ (we didn't have any of these LOL) In my opinion there are much better restaurants to go to.

I had a few restaurants on my list to try (pearl was top of the list) as well as many of my favorites, but time goes by soooo fast ...oh well there's always next trip :)

Thanks again to all the contributors of this formum :)
