Bali bird park

Hi,
A couple weeks ago we visited Bali. On one of our trips we headed to the Taman Burung bird park. Because the ticket was over 20 US$ per person we decided to skip the park.
Did we miss something spectacular by not visiting the park (taking the entry fee in mind)?
How does the park compare for instance with the bird park in Kuala Lumpur (about 10 US$)?
BTW We were surprised that we did not see any tropical bird in the wild. Maybe we just missed them?
