Walking to either end should not be a problem depending on age of children etc.
We have gone from one end to the other but that's on a bike..don't think I'd like to walk the whole lot :)
The end near Dhyana Pura can become quite busy with traffic as people use it to cut through to the beach or bypass Jln Raya Seminyak. There's often taxis heading up Jln Drupadi.
Not sure exactly where you are on Drupadi so don't know where nearest mini mart might be..actually on Drupadi
