Hi all. Wondering if anyone has stayed in REALLY cheap accomodation in Bali (Losmans etc) and could offer any advice. Last trip I stayed at Tune Hotel in Legian for a week while my wife and son when to Singapore. That was pretty good value (around $30 NZ per night from memory) - pretty much had a good bed, a shower which I used to store my surfboards in (as the bed took up most of the room), and aircon that you paid extra for.
Next trip I'm thinking of going the Losman option, partly to save money and partly as part of the whole full on budget holiday experience.
From what I gather you can't book these places over the internet or via phone so you just have to turn up and take your chances. Is that right?
Also interested in a basic rundown of the losman option - how much do they cost (and do you barter), what to expect in terms of security, facilities etc.
