AA's decision not to fly the DRW to DPS route is surprising.
Air Asia Indonesia with it's Airbus A320 aircraft would be a natural fit on this route.
AA is currently hunting bigger fish. It has painted a slogan on one of it's aircraft demanding access to the KUL to SYD route. Malaysian Airlines has successfully lobbied the Malaysian Government not to allow AA to fly this route.
If permission was ever granted, Air AsiaX would fly this route with the bigger Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
