I have type 2 diabetes. I know how much carbohydrate I can get away with and how much I can't. Alcohol itself may have a blood sugar lowering action but you could expect beer with it's quite high carb compared to, for example, dry wine, to cause a bit of a spike in blood sugar.

Low carb beers here in Aus seem to have a neutral action on blood sugar which makes sense but since low carb beers seem to be the only beers that have a "nutrition" label attatched I did not know what Bintang would do however after testing my blood a lot when first trying it I found it to be almost neutral in affect.

Therefore I have concluded that Bintang whilst not exactly a low carb beer may be lower in carb that Aussie beers.

If not then the Gods in Bali must be smiling on me when I miss out on the yummy desserts and have half a portion of rice only but can have a Bintang or 2 um 3 um 3ish. I think it's a reward for being so good about food, (most of the time).

Just thought carb coundter may find this interesting. Also wonder if fellow type 2ers have found this to be true also.
