Leaving from Perth, it was a domestic flight, then international from Darwin. We couldn't book in early, so had to be back 2 hrs before departure. We weren't sure if we had enough time to go into town, so we went pretty much across the road to the Darwin Airport Resort. What a lovely spot!! It felt like we were in Bali with the palms & pool around the bar/restaurant area. We had a couple of drinks & a very nice lunch,so much better than airport food!
After you go through immigration, you can buy your duty free, and there is a seating area that sells drinks etc, and also an outdoor area for smokers.
