Agree with Baldie, excellent snorkelling. Have snorkelled Barrier Reef and equals that. We stayed at Adi Assri Cottages in June and left for Menjangan from a place called Labuan Lalang (spelling ?) we snorkelled 3 different spots around the island, all different. If you stay at Adi Assri they have local school Balinese dancers and Gamelon group entertainment 2 nights a week which is well worth organising your trip around. I know Tuesday night is one nights but cannot remember the other night. Also on the beach the local village is involved in coral regeneration in the area after it was plundered by the Javenese and used for building materials. They have low voltage electricity cables running from shore out to wire framed cages that they tie small pieces of live coral to, the low voltage accelerates the growth of the coral and this idea is now being taken up in other parts of the world. This area has the ocean on one side and the stunning mountain backdrop of the Barat National Park on the other. This was our second time there and will probably snorkel there again in the future. Well worth the drive.
Cheers Kerrie.
