Arrived home yesterday on AA and had no problems getting through immigration without VOA. All depends on how many flights leaving at same time. You can check on the Web for flights at Bali airport which may give you an idea of whether to pay for VOA or not on departure. We used VOA on arrival on the 28/9 and bypassed all the lines as many flights arrived around same time. Got through in about 10mins and out of airport in around 20 mins. Well worth the $$$
