You WILL do a LOT of walking in Bali as the traffic is often gridlocked. Take flat shoes with thick soles to cushion your feet. There is a shop just before one of my fave restaurants, Un's, just off Poppies 1 that sells Birkenstock-type sandals for about Rp200K. They are ideal for walking. The only shoes I have ever been able to put on & walk for miles.
